"A dish called pasta
'nests'!" Serving: 8 | Prep: 10m | Ready in: 32m
Ingredients
• 1 (16 oz.) box
Barilla® Spaghetti
•
1 (24 oz.) jar Barilla® Traditional Sauce
•
Cooking spray
•
1 (12 oz.) package mild Italian sausage, casings removed
•
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, or more as needed
Direction
•
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Use cooking spray
to spray the inside of 8 ramekins
(4- or 5-inch).
•
In a saucepan, heat sauce over medium-low heat.
• In a non-stick
skillet over medium heat, cook and stir sausage for approximately 4 to 6
minutes, breaking up sausage into small pieces as its pink color is gone and
start to brown. Move to a paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon for draining.
•
In a large pot, boil lightly salted water. In the
boiling water, cook spaghetti for
around 12 minutes till tender yet still firm to the bite, stirring
occasionally. Drain.
• Use a
"nest" of cooked spaghetti to line the bottom of prepared ramekins, making sure the bottom is
covered. Divide cooked sausage on top of pasta among the ramekins. Add about
1/3 cup sauce on top, ensuring sausage is covered. Sprinkle with enough
mozzarella to cover.
• In preheated
oven, bake "nests" for around 20 minutes till cheese is bubbling. Allow to rest for around 5
minutes before serving.
